Music Photography

One of my other big joys in life is my work in music, both as a music industry professional, and as a flautist.   In 2008, just a few years after I created Art Heffron Photography, I founded Strings & Wood Concerts, an indie folk/rock concert series, booking agency and music production company, where I’ve made so many lovely band connections as I honed my skills as a talent buyer, event planner, booking agent and promoter for various bands, venues and music management teams.  

This led to opportunities tour managing, playing back up flute parts both in studio and on the road and working as an local and tour photographer supporting artists like Gregory Alan Isakov, Brandi Carlile, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Head and the Heart, John Craigie, Rainbow Girls, The Avett Brothers, Blues Traveler, Gabrielle Louse, Daniel Rodriguez, Iron & Wine, John Prine, Bob Weir, Lumineers and many other musical poets of our time.

Through my paths of both photography and music industry colliding, I’ve come to specialize in documenting the raw, candid moments of live performances, the intimate behind-the-scenes of life on one the road, compelling visuals for band promo & album artwork along with an extra love for covering behind the scenes recording sessions while new albums are being brought to life.
