My very first All Her Own client had something written on her bathroom mirror, that inspired me to go beyond mainline boudoir into a more real, more personalized, intimately woven session. It read, “WARNING: objects in mirror may be distorted by socially constructed ideas of beauty.” The session and experience re-affirmed what I was doing with All Her Own and inspired me with every shoot to play my part in redefining a genre that has been over run by unrealistic expectations of what it means to be beautiful.
